Stopped the circulation of counterfeit food products — together with customs and police

We coordinated law enforcement and customs to seize counterfeits sold under the client's brand and cut off their supply.

01Situation

A rights holder in the food products segment discovered that counterfeits were reaching the market under its brand. Beyond the direct loss of revenue, counterfeit food carries a reputational blow and — due to violations of sanitary standards — a direct risk to consumer health.

The rights holder could not act alone: real enforcement requires the powers of state authorities and a sound legal framework.

02Our approach

  • We identified and documented the violations and determined the points of import and distribution.
  • We initiated and supported inspections carried out by customs and police.
  • We provided legal support for the seizures and subsequent actions.

“Only a combination of the rights holder, customs and police works against organized counterfeiting — separately each is powerless.”

03Result

Batches of counterfeit packaging and finished products were seized, and illegal circulation under the client's brand was stopped.

The rights holder protected both revenue and — no less important — consumer trust in the brand.
